Pink and Purple Flower Power Party Palooza

Tired of the same old party themes at your local dollar store? Hello Walmart! I found these darling flower plates for 97 cents on the party aisle at Walmart! I discovered something else also. I think Walmart had enough of Target out cute-ing them and dollar stores out pricing them, so they got busy stocking the party aisles with super cute themes. Dozens of them! And super cheap as well! Almost everything is 97 cents! These plates were the perfect answer to a joint sister birthday party where one wanted purple and the other pink.

Cupcakes are all the rage and there is no need to order high dollar fancy ones. These cupcakes were homemade from Duncan Hines yellow cake mix and Duncan Hines vanilla buttercream icing. The edible candy flowers are Wilton and come in a set of one dozen for $1.99 at Micheals (don't forget your coupon). I made 72 cupcakes for less than $20 and everyone asked repeatedly where they came from!

Valentine Party Necklace Craft

Looking for a low cost craft for your Valentine party? This idea comes to you with no strings attached – yet!  I found a six pack of plastic strings at Dollar Tree and inspiration struck to have a necklace stringing craft at our party.  Dollar Tree did have plastic beads, for you guessed it, one dollar.  However I chose the beads from Michaels because they also had heart beads available.  As you know, Michaels has some pretty good dollar bins, however no luck this time on beads.  So armed with my 25% off entire purchase coupon, I picked up a bag of plain and a bag of heart beads for just over $5.00.  How do you acquire such a coupon you might be asking?  Sign up for their sales flyer by email and they just start sending you coupons; it’s that easy.  (I did make other purchases that day, because this coupon only comes once a month and you can only use them on a certain day and a certain time.  Read the fine print because there are other restrictions).   I opened the beads and dumped them in the bowl and voila! The cutie heart bowl came from Walmart for $1.00.

Hershey Kiss Valentine Tree

This darling tree came from the Easter aisle at Dollar Tree.  All you need for this project is a bag of Hershey kisses and a toothpick.

Gently twist the toothpick into the bottom center of the Hershey kiss, about a quarter of an inch. Arrange the branches of the tree into your desired shape and press the kiss onto the tip. Voila! My tree had 25 branches to adorn and took me less than 20 minutes and the whole project was less than $3.00!
